    "text": "85\nBecause corruption is not an abstract sin.\nCorruption is the roof that falls.\nThe medicine that never arrives.\nThe exam passed by connection.\nThe job reserved before the interview.\nThe road paid for twice and built once.\nThe public record buried until the people who remember are\ntired.\nThe young are in the streets because the future is where they have\nbeen told to wait, while decisions about that future are made in\nrooms from which they are absent.\nOnly 2.8 percent of the world's parliamentarians were aged thirty\nor younger in the Inter-Parliamentary Union's 2025 report, and more\nthan a third of parliamentary chambers had no member in that age\ngroup. [28]\nHalf the world is under thirty.\nThe chamber does not look like the future it governs.\nSo the future appears outside the chamber.\nTo understand why people fight is not to diminish the seriousness\nof the fight. It is to recognize that people rarely risk prison,\ninjury, exile, or death while believing the existing future still has\na place for them.\nNo movement is pure. No crowd is immune to rumor,\nprovocation, vanity, opportunism, or harm. A person who destroys a\nneighbor's life does not become innocent because the cause is just.\nBut do not let one broken window erase a million broken\npromises.\nDo not let the photograph of fire become an excuse to delete the\nyears that preceded it.\nDo not call every young person violent because authorities feared\nthe sight of young people together.\nThe right to peaceful assembly exists precisely because power\nrarely volunteers to be confronted.\nProtect the march.\nProtect the medic.\nProtect the journalist.\nProtect the legal observer.\nProtect the child who should never have been placed between a\ngrievance and a weapon.\n",
