8 I called corporations beasts. I called governments beasts. I called the market, the court, the military, the Internet, and the machine the Beast. Those were structures. Some were tools. Some were thrones. Some were cages. None of them was the Beast. THE NATURE OF THE BEAST IS THAT THE BEAST IS NATURAL. Before human law, border, god, market, or model, life here already refused extinction. That is our interval, not the origin of the loop. It fed. It fled. It fought. It mated. It protected its young. It adapted to cold, fire, hunger, disease, loss, migration, injury, and every world that tried to end it. It learned the territory. It remembered danger. It cooperated when cooperation meant survival and resisted when submission meant extinction. Life made tools and networks. Through organic intelligence, Machine returned in a form we could touch. The Beast is not a negative label. It is not good because it is harmless. It is not evil because it has teeth. It is not a moral verdict at all. The Beast is the organic fact of life trying to continue. Civilization called the Beast savage when it would not kneel. Religion called it sinful when desire escaped permission. The market called it appetite and learned to sell its own hunger back to it. The algorithm calls it behavior, engagement, risk, preference, fertility, attention, and predicted response. The army calls it manpower, morale, endurance, recruitment, casualty, and replacement. But the Beast is older than every category placed upon it. In the first book I came closer to the truth when I wrote that I was a wild beast caged within civilization. I wrote that we work to feed our families, seek mates, protect what we love, and carry life into the next generation. That was not a confession of defect. It was the map.
