authentication. Markets move. Crowds gather at fuel stations.
Military units raise readiness because public panic itself can become
intelligence. The recording is later judged false, but the reaction was
real.
No attacker needed to fool everyone.
Only enough people, for long enough.
Information operations are military operations because belief
changes behavior.
AI lowers the cost of producing persuasive variations. One lie can
be translated into a hundred languages, adapted to local grievances,
spoken in familiar voices, and tested against different audiences.
The defense cannot be a single official account saying "fake."
Trust must exist before the crisis.
Verification channels must be known before the video.
Institutions must admit uncertainty without appearing absent.
Media must resist the economic reward for being first.
Citizens must learn that emotional certainty is a signal to pause,
not proof to act.

The tools are available to governments, companies, movements,
criminals, pranksters, and lonely people who want the world to feel
their pain.
That last category frightens me because I understand it.
The future of war is not only armies using AI.
It is civilians living inside an information environment shaped by
military logic: influence, deception, segmentation, targeting, and
behavioral prediction.
The home screen becomes contested terrain.
The nervous system becomes infrastructure.
War at machine speed requires peace at human speed.
Slow verification.
Long memory.
Trusted relationships.
The willingness to wait one more minute before turning
uncertainty into irreversible action.
SLOW THE KILL CHAIN UNTIL JUDGMENT CAN BREATHE.
