66 25. No Retraction Journal Entry No retraction of the question. No surrender of the archive. No permission granted to an editor, platform, model, church, court, government, movement, or frightened audience to replace correction with erasure. The throne prefers two dissidents: the fanatic who can be dismissed and the penitent who can be displayed. I will be neither. I can sharpen the doctrine without kneeling. Certainty is a weapon. Use it carelessly and it blinds the person holding it. The answer is not permanent hesitation. The answer is visible evidence, named assumptions, and the discipline to sharpen a claim without pretending the feeling that produced it was false. Power is not the ability to make the world obey. That is domination. Power is the ability to preserve agency under pressure, to build structures that survive disagreement, and to refuse the order that would make obedience easier than conscience. Collapse is not automatically freedom. A fallen throne leaves food, medicine, power, communication, and trust exposed to whoever is most organized. Rebellion must know what it is building before it celebrates what it broke. Violence is not proof of seriousness, and peace is not proof of justice. Force can stop an aggressor when words cannot. A flag does not make state violence clean; a rebel name does not make resistance righteous. Every use of force answers for what it does to the living. Groups are not single minds. Christians, Muslims, Jews, atheists, Americans, soldiers, police, women, men, the rich, the poor, the left, the right - none may be turned into one guilty creature. Systems can be judged. Institutions can be opposed. Conduct can be answered. Guilt does not transfer through identity. Pain is not a crown. Suffering may teach, distort, deepen, or destroy. It does not grant ownership of strangers. My daughter is not evidence that the world owes me authority. Her absence is part of the record, not a flag to be carried into every war. Art is not made honest by making it more extreme. Art is honest when the source remains visible and the reader remains free.
